I am a descendent of Ephraim Terrell Padgett. He is my 2nd great grandfather. His son William Riley Padgett was my great grand father. His son Claude Newt Padgett was my grand father.
I have posted many queries regarding E.T., Terrell, Ephriagh or whatever spelling the person recording his name chose to use. So far most have gone unanswered.
I am a member of Ancestry.com website and our tree is public. much of the information in the Padgett line above E.T. is speculative an I consider it a work in progress. I chose to make the tree public because what I consider erroneous information may lead to a factual conclusion for another researcher.I have participated in the DNA project at Ancestry.com.
I know that Ephraim Terrell Padgett served in the 1st S.C. Inf. (Orr's Rifles). I know that he was wounded by a gunshot to one of his legs. I know that he lived in Forsyth County Georgia, after the war. I know that he died in 1908 and the doctor and the undertaker each billed the State $16.00 for medical treatment and a casket.
I do not know the name of his father or all his siblings or where he was buried.
