My connection with the Pagel Family. My 3rd Great Grandfather: Frank Pagel, born in 1826 in Prussia, married Wilhelmina Wachlin. They had two daughters, both born in Collingwood, Ontario, Canada
1. Mary T. Pagel, (1858-1917), m. Godfrey Laufle, (1855-01)
2. Elizabeth (Lizzie) Pagel, (1861-?), no further info.
They settled in Austin, Minnesota before 1870, according to the 1870 census for Austin, Mower County, Frank was a Saloon keeper with his brother-in-law Henry Wachlin. In the 1880 census Frank was working as a laborer, Henry was unable to because of illness. They lived near my great great grandparents: Godfrey and Mary (Pagel) Laufle. Godfrey was an engineer with the Milwaukee Road in Austin. Godfrey and Mary had six sons and one daughter, their son Harry William Laufle was my great grandfather, my mother's maternial grandfather. Accoding to Godfrey's obituary Mary was visiting relatives in Lake City, Minnesota at the time of his death.
I would be interested in learning more. If anyone would have any information to add to what I have. I would like to learn more about Lizzie if she married and her husband. Also if anyone would know of the relatives in Lake City, if there could be a connection, i would be glad to share what little information I have so far.
