There is a long document in the 'LeCompte' family forum under "LeCompte Family Document" which is very interesting. I suggest that you jumpt to that forum to read it. Summary of our ancestors:

Mary LeCompte(who married Edw. Cator) is daughter of Moses Lecompte & Levinia Pattison (widow Driver). She fisrt married Edw. Cator, who died, and then married a Dove and then a Navy. CBHildren from all marriages (a strong vital woman!)

Mary's father Moses, when about 18 began to lose his sight & was blind by the time he was 23. He married May Skinner whose father was english. They had 11 children. Out of 11 children, only 2 did not lose their sight!!! Our ancestor Mary did lose hers.

The document in the LeCompte family forum mentioned photographs of the LeCompte/Cator house.
