Hi Janice,

I'm not sure if you're looking for Royal's descendants or his ancestors from your post but I can help only with his ancestors. Samuel James Pake, born April 27, 1842, Royal's father, was the son of Samuel S. Pake, Jr. (1804-1886) and his wife Sarah O'Riley (b.ca. 1807 in Ireland). Samuel was the son of Samuel (Peeck) Pake (1768-1863) and his wife Julia Judeth Parliament (1783-1863) who were among the earliest settlers of Big Island in Prince Edward Co., Ontario. Samuel was the son of Jacobus "James" Peeck, Jr. UEL(1738-1817)who was born in Schraalenburgh, Bergen Co., NJ and who married Willempje J. Bogert (1739-1803). The Parliament family (Parleman) were also from Bergen Co., NJ. Most of the Prince Edward Co. Peeck's adopted the PECK spelling in Canada, however, most descendants of Samuel adopted the PAKE spelling which was the original phonetic pronunciation where the "ee" was pronounced as a long "a" as in Beethoven. Some other early Dutch families that went to Canada experienced similiar spelling changes (Mebie to Maybee and Bleecker to Blacker among others). I have further information on this line back to the original immigrant Jan Peeck (b. ca. 1624 - d. ca. 1659) who married Maria Du Trieux in February 1650 in New Amsterdam. I'd like to know more about Royal's family if you have anything. Let me know if you'd like any further information.

Ross Pake
