I have a little more information on John Pakkala as received from Hannu in Finland just yesterday. "John (Jussi) Pakkala was born December 23, 1886. It is also interesting to note that his birth name was Popoff, but he took the name Pakkala when he was young. Jussi was the child from his father's first marriage with a Karelian woman."
