The pronunciation that my family uses is Pal-sik (emphasis on the first syllable). I know of others in the United States that pronounce it Paul-sik. In Europe, the two c’s have little marks over them, which gives them a “ch” sound.
As far as we can tell, the name originated in the Croatia/Slovenia area of Europe.
