Hi Chris,

Thanks for responding. I do realize that Austria-Hungary covered a huge area (my father-in-law's family lists that as "home", too, and we just figured out that they are from the Ukraine). George is my mother-in-law's father. Unfortunately, little is known about George's homeland, family, etc. I'm still trying to find him in the 1920 census, by varying the name and using different Soundex numbers. If his is like my father-in-law's family, the homeland will be Austria-Hungary! I'm guessing that George lived near his future wife's family; she lived just outside of Prague. Does that help you at all?? I really appreciate any help or direction that anyone can offer. Thanks!

Marla
