Palen, Palon & Palan. I believe these are all derived from Ireland. One of my family sur-name is Palon & I have found siblings spelling their names Palon, Palan & Palen. I know that there are Palon's that have migrated from Spain through Ellis Island with Spanish first names. During the patatoe famine many Irish fled Ireland some went to Spain. On the Celtic radio show on public radio called the Thistle & Shamrock Show the host played music from the Celtic region of Spain. This might give you some information for your research.

Good luck, Gary
