The Palen name has derived independently from Poland, Finland, Netherlands, Luxemburg, the Baltic States and Wales. My own family came, and still has members living in the Tarnobrzeg area of Poland, not too far from Lublin. In fact I visited both areas in 1990. I haven't done any genealogical research in a good dozen years, but in the late 1980's I did come across some Palens from Lublin currently residing in Western NY. Drop me a line if you would like to share info.
