Dear Gordon,
My known ancestry is far more recent than yours since I have only just started my research. I do know that I have ancestors from the Torquay area and have noted that many of "us" hail from SW England.
The few clues I start with do seem to appear regularly in certain trails of records. Eliabeth Malet Palk (1800's), Sir Lawrence Palk (1800's), Jack Palk (1900's) and even the odd Lydia recur. Might these names coincide with any in your tree?
I hope we can be of mutual assistance.
Kindest regards,
Lydia
