Newton Abbot, Devon (UK) Palks

I have been researching Palk's in my family who lived in the Newton Abbot area of Devon and would love to hear from anyone who has any info on this family line or connections.

The earliest I have is John Palk born approx 1780 and married to Elizabeth (Betsy Bearne). Their son, John Bearne Palk, my g-g-grandfather, was born in Newton Abbot in 1806, and I am descended from his third wife, Agnes, whose daughter, also Agnes, married my g-grandfather.

I would assume there is a link between these Newton Abbot Palk's and those of Staverton, but have hit a brick wall on getting any further.

Any info sharing would be much appreciated.

Grenville Whelan
