This might sound strange, but here goes. Has your ancestors change the spelling of Palkovic in any form throughout your research. The reason I'm asking is the wall I have encountered. My ancestor Lazarus Polivick (pronounced polovick or palavick) came from Slavonia in 1829. Obvious a sailor of sorts by the anchor on his tombstone. He didn't marry untill the age of 50 to a 17yo from TN. Probably because he didn't speak English that well and was illiterate. I haven't been able to find any link to his name in that country and we are the only ones listed in the USA with this spelling of Polivick. So everyone with this name is kin and cousins. If you can help me with this I would appreciate it very much. Slavonia is now a town in Croatia. codray@pennyrile.net Johnna
