Hi Carla, At this point we don't know. We know "our" Palmateers were in Western New York circa 1830, Garrett Palmateer having come there from Northumberland, Ontario, Canada where he was born in 1806. Who Garrett's father was is unknown. At one point we were sure we knew the connection to Michael Palmateer, the early immigrant to NYC area, but have disproven that connect. Garret may still be descended from Michael but we have to find a different connection if he is. Daraleen
