Dear Bob

I received your message and had it printed out for may records.
I am a relative of the Palmateers that live around the Tweed Ontario area. There are stil quite a number that live in the area. Ross, Art and Richard (Dick). They live in the Tweed area.
George parents were Caton Edmund Palmateer and Matilida Brown. There were 5 siblings.

I have no other info as to marriages, births , deaths where buried of family members
I have been in contact with at least 3 or 4 others who are also doing research. If you have a e-mail address and I get in touch with them maybe we can exchange info on what is available so far. I don't like giving out e-mail address without permission. What I have on file may help some It is by no means complete but would help in getting started. Is that okay with you?

I have been given to understand that the the hockey player Mike Palmateer is related but yet to determine where he fits in. I know he has a sister Linda who married a Dean (Deane)? The family lived in the Toronto area I believe an there are other siblings.
I believe many years ago some members from the Toronto area used to visit the family in the Tweed area. Also, that some of my uncles visited at 1 time used to keep in touch with some of the relatives in the St. Ola area, years ago.
I do know there are Palmateer's (Polmateer's) live in the Brighton area, Picton area, Guelph, London , maybe in the Simcoe area.
There are also, some in Winnipeg and Edmonton, and B.C, They are also interested in getting info.
Hope this helps you some. If possible I would like info what ever family history you have on file. I would forward whatever I have on my records if you are interested, or would put you through if you wish to others that may help you. I have some other data that I have not put in what I have given you. If you wish I will see that you get it, it you wish. I would be interested in updating what ever I have on file already.
Given to understand Palmateer's and descendants in the ST. Olo, Bancroft area still in the area. Also, some burried in the Greenbush Cemetary. I am not sure where this located.
Please contact me at if you wish
