Hello Palmateer Researchers!
Is there anyone looking for or having information about a Samuel Palmatier married to a Jane Rose, both living in Prince Edward County in Ontario at the turn of the 18th Century (1800's)?
We have a record of Samuel Palmatier and a Jane Rose having their daughter Mary Jane Palmatier baptised in the Picton Methodist Church in October of 1805. That's it!
But wait - there are Prince Edward Couunty militia records for a John Palmatier, Thomas Palmatier, William Palmatier and Henry Palmatier all born between 1799 and 1809 who would also probably be sons of Samuel Palmatier and Jane Rose. These male Palmatiers above do not fit in with the John Polmatier Jr. and Catherine Stark family as they were born before John and Catherine were married on May 2, 1809.
This Samuel may have had the middle name of Jacob, as there was a 44 year-old Jacob on the 1822 Militia Roll of Prince Edward County. The name Jacob runs in my Stark family too.
Any help or clarification would be most interesting and welcome. I can be reached at email@example.com directly to trade old war stories and info on Prince Edward, Northumberland and Lennox & Addington county Palmatiers (Palmateers, Polmatiers) in Ontario.
The Mary Jane Polmatier baptized in 1805 married into my mysterious Stark family of Prine Edward County in Ontario, Canada. Mary Jane Palmatier married Zachariah Stark, Sr. in 1840 and I descend directly from these two.
Zachariah Stark, Sr. was the son of Jacob Stark, a 53rd Regimental soldier on the British side in the American Revolutionary War. Jacob Stark was born in Province of New Jersey in 1764.
