Dennis - It's been several years since your post, but I'm hoping you can be of some help with some elusive Ontario Palmateer/Palmatiers.

My gggrandmother was Elizabeth Tina Victoria Palmateer, b. 1839-45.

Per the 1861, her parents were John Palmatier and Deborah (nee Vanmeer). Living with them at the time were: daughter Sarah M.-age 18; son Simon-age 16; daughter Eliza J.-age 15; another son Simon-age 11; son-in-law John Gulliver-age 33; wife to John Gulliver (daughter to John & Deborah Palmatier) Susan-age 23; son to John & Susan Gulliver (grandson to John & Deborah P.)Simon-age 3; son-in-law George Lucas-age 23; and his wife (daughter to John & Deborah Palmatier) Elizabeth V.-age 22 - these last 2 being my gggrandparents.

If any of these names ring a bell for you, I would be interested in any additional info you may have regarding John & Deborah's birth, death, and marriage dates, as well as any of their parentage info. I have seen their last name spelled "ee" as well as "ie". If the ages are correct on this Census, that would mean John was b. abt 1801, and Deborah was b. abt 1812, if that is of any help.

Hope to hear from you, or anyone else with info. Thanks!
Best regards,
Karen
