My cousin made a trip to Cumberland Court House last week and uncovered the following data:
Rebecca Palmore wife of Augustus Palmore b. 1820
From DEATH REGISTERY 1853 - 1885 CUMBERLAND CO.
name: Rebecca Palmore white female died May 1857
place of death: Cumberland County
cause: Do. of womb age 22
born: Cumberland Co.
Occupation: housekeeping
consort: Augustus W. Palmore
source: Dr. John W. Nash, physician
It looks like her age was reported wrong as she was born in 1823, she would have been 33-34 at time of her death.
It looks like she died of some complications of childbirth.
