Were you able to find any information as to the ancestry of Pledge Palmore? I am curious as to his "Pledge" name as I descend from the Pledge family of Virginia, which begins with Nicholas Pledge who settled in Virginia in 1636. I am working on a Pledge genealogy. Sometimes a female marries and gives a son her surname as his first name.
