Hi Richard,

My friend Dan Wallace, who is also a descendant to Pledge and Sally, shares your assumption about the name Pledge. It was used by John Palmer (Palmore) to name two sons, Pledge and William Pledge Palmore. If you could point me to your research on the Pledge line I'd appreciate it.
