My mother was adopted out of the Willows Maternity Sanitarium an unwed motherís home in Kansas City Mo in 1936.She was placed with a family in Dundy County Nebraska. Adopted name was Lois Ann Bernard. My mother has been dead for about 15 years. I am trying to find some of her birth family for some medical history. I have her crib card that said her mother was 21 living at home; father 34 was a printer .My mothers birth name was Maxine Palmquist she was born 02/24/1936. From what I have read about the Willows the last name is the mothers name. On a lab test card is the name Allamae {her motherís this assumed name, from what I have read on the Willows it is assumed?} Her mother was 21 years5 ft. 1 in. tall 103 pounds with blond hair blue eyes. Her father was 32 years 5ft. 11 in 175 lbs with brown hair grey eyes. In the letter to my grandmother received it said her {allamae'S} dad was killed in a farm accident five years prior. She also had two brothers that were farmers, one is a mechanic and one a veterinarian. {this sounds odd but this is the way it was written. They had owned their farm. They had lived there for 36 years. I have case numbers and the custody and adoption papers. Missouri is still a closed state on adoptions. Thanks ahead of time for any help or just for reading.
