"Grolne" is obviously a misspelling of something. It could perhaps be Grolanda, which is in Västergötland, 15 km SW of Falköping.
His name would have been Frans Axel. "Frans" is almost always changed to "Frank" in America.
Palmquist is a rather common name in Sweden, but he need not necessarily have used that name when he lived in Sweden.

On the "Emigranten" CD there is one Carl G Palmqvist from Grolanda who leaves for Galesburg [state not specified] on 19 April 1889.
