A George and Samuel Palgrove operated Vally Forge at Ft. Loudon (Franklin County) PA. for sometime or were interested in it as partners. The Palsgrove's were furnace men from Berks County, PA. This was from the book called "Forbes Road-Parnel's Knob and Burnt Cabins" page 39.
In the 1870 Census of Warren Township, PA the following Palsgroves were listed.

Buried at the Fairview Cementary at Mercersbug, PA is a Samuel Palsgrove.
I have a will for a Samuel Palsgrove dated February, 1891. It mentions a wife Susan. A grand daughter Susan Elizabeth Palsgrove. His sister Poly and her son Hezikial McGrath. A brother Henry and his daughter Amanda. Another brother Peter.
I also have a will of Susan Palsgrove dated 1896.
A Samuel C. Palsgrove was a member of the Reformed Church in Franklin County, PA in 1887. It also shows up in 1820 in the book "History of Franklin County, PA".
A Samuel Plasgrove lived in Merchersburg, PA(1800- March 6, 1891). His wife was Susan who lived from 1805 to May 19, 1898. They had two daughters Mrs. Mary Yeager (1820-1904) who married a minister and Hannah Steward who had a son called John Austin. A son Henry (1827-1882) who had a daughter Susan E. Samuel had a sister called Polly and she had a son H. McGrath. Also Samuel had a brother called Peter Palsgrove. Susan had a sister called Lydia Spangler (1813-1900).
Census of 1810, 1820, 1830, 1840 for PA shows a Samuel Palsgrove in Berks County
Census of 1850 for PA shows four people at the same address in Franklin County.
Samuel Polsgrove age 50 farmer born in MD
Susan 47 PA
Henry 23 laborer MD
Hanna E Palsgrove 20 PA
Note the different spelling of Palsgrove/Polsgrove. I think the census takers just got it wrong but who knows.
