John George Pfalzgraf and His Family:

I will begin with a John Jacob Pfaltzgraff, from Niederbroenn, Alsace, France. On 9-18-1727,
John Jacob Kuntz, b. 2/19/1692, and his wife Anna Margaretha, nee Pfaltzgraff, daughter of John
Jacob Pfaltzgraff and his wife Greta ___________, b. 9-22-1695, Alsace, France, arrived in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on the ship “William and Sarah.”

Whether the parents of Margaretha were on this ship awaits a reading of the passenger list.

John Jacob Kuntz was a son of John George Kuntz, also from Niederbroenn. Another record
refers to a ship “Glasgow” which arrived in 1738. This is confusing. Margaretha died 9-9-1738.
Jacob Kuntz died 1769. He was buried in Lebanon, Lehigh Co., PA. Children: Jacob, Gerhart,
Christina, Martha, b. 1730, Catherine, Anna Barbara, John George, Bernard. From records of
Hill Church, Pike Twp., Berks Co.

John George Paltzgraff first arrived in Philadelphia on 9-11-1732 on the ship “Pennsylvania”
along with John George Kuntz. This is our George and it seems to me that this is evidence that
these two families were closely connected.

John George Paltzgraff returned to Germany with his in-law, Phillip Emmert, to settle some
family business and they returned to Philadelphia on the ship “St. Mark” on 9-26-1741. His
name was spelled Pfalzgraf on the ship passenger list.

We know that our George was over 16 years of age in 1732 when he first arrived. If he was a
son of John Jacob and Greta, I believe he should have been born about 1690-1710. His wife was
Anna Maria Barbara Kamp(-en), baptized 10-6-1715, daughter of Kaspar Kamp and Anna
Catharina Franck. They immigrated between 1715 and 1717. I haven’t found the record yet.
I don’t know how old George was when he died. His will was probated in 1759. His wife,
Barbara, married (2) a man named Leonard Drumbower (several variants of this name).

Children of George and Barbara: John George, 1735-1738; Christina, 1737; md. Paul Boverinfer;
Eva Catharina, 1739, md. Henry Stirner, John George, 1741- ? , md. . Eva Catharina ________;
JOHN JACOB, 1748- after 1810, md. possibly Elizabeth Bader. THIS one removed to
KENTUCKY.; John Henry, 5-14-1755–2-13-1838, md. Anna Maria Huber; Mary, 7-2-1751– ? ,
md . John Frietsch; MARGARET (same as his Mother?), md. John Hartman; Maria Barbara,
1744-1795, never married, but had a son named John Jacob Pfaltzgraf, b. 7-18-1769, son of
John William Wartman, she died 4-29-1795, age 51; Fronica, died young; and Jacobina, 1757-
