I was searching the internet and found your posting on a genalogy forum about James Palumbo. You had a follow up mentioning that your Palumbos were from Termini Imerese, Sicily.
Because your posting was dated 1998, I'm taking a stab in the dark that this e-mail address is still good. I hope it is, because we are related.
My Great-Grandfather was Agostino Palumbo. James was his cousin. They were both from Termini Imerese (I went to termini a couple of years ago, and though there is a jewelry store called Palumbo & Gigante, its Palumbo is a different family from elsewhere in Sicily that opened the store recently... there was only one Palumbo family in Termini at the turn of the century).
Agostino went to New Orleans. James apparently went, via Detroit, eventually to Idaho, and established a fruit company called La Paloma. My Great Aunt, Rose, apparently corresponded with him as late as the early 80's.
I have more information on him, but it is not handy right now. It is at my office, and this is a Saturday. My Father has much more information and documentation, and I have several pictures from Termini, including of the house where Agostino lived.
If you receive this e-mail, please write back to me.
