My Palumbo family came over to the U.S. from San Ferdinando di Puglia Italy between the years of 1910 & 1930. I've found my g.grandmother and her siblings... I know her parents names but cannot find any marriage records for them in San Ferdinando di Puglia. I'm afraid i'll have to look elsewhere in another town but I have no idea where to start looking.
Antonio Palumbo married Rosa Ricchimuzzi
1.Isabella Palumbo b. 1880 d. 1881 (10 months old)
2. savino b. 1882
3. vincenzo b. 1885
4. nicola giuseppe palumbo b. 1887
5. isabella b. 1891
6. donata b. 1892
All the children were born in San Ferdinando di puglia and got married there as well. I believe the youngest daughter died of the plague or some such disease, as there is a story in the family regarding that. However, I need to find marriage records for the parents (antonio and Rosa). Can anyone help?
Also, I looked up the Palumbo name on a coat of arms website and it suggested that around 1530 a man named Giovanni Palumbo brought his family to the Bari area (in which it is the first notation of a palumbo family in italy) and that he had two sons, Lodovico and mario, of which each created two very distinct branches.
Does anyone know about this line and if so, share :)
