Thanks for responding.That sure clears up what the "Scamps of Bucksnort" are.I hope to make a trip back to Leesville to the library to look at the book again. It gave me the info I needed on the Pamplins.The kind of information I need is just documentation.Census records, birth, death, etc.I found the 1850 Census for James Monroe and Louisa Pamplin in Jasper Co., TX.I found one for John Jean in Georgia.Those are the only two I have been able to find.I have a subscription to Ancestry and access to census records but have no idea where to find any others.Also, I have heard conflicting info on where John Jean died and who he lived with at the time.Do you have a list of where the sources for the documentation?
