Thanks for responding. That sure clears up what the "Scamps of Bucksnort" are. I hope to make a trip back to Leesville to the library to look at the book again. It gave me the info I needed on the Pamplins. The kind of information I need is just documentation. Census records, birth, death, etc. I found the 1850 Census for James Monroe and Louisa Pamplin in Jasper Co., TX. I found one for John Jean in Georgia. Those are the only two I have been able to find. I have a subscription to Ancestry and access to census records but have no idea where to find any others. Also, I have heard conflicting info on where John Jean died and who he lived with at the time. Do you have a list of where the sources for the documentation?
