I do not have a will for John Hope Sr. I believe he lived and died in Hanover County, which burned. I do, however, have the wills of Benjamin Hope and Matthew Hope, two of his sons. His son John Jr. died intestate in the 1830s. These documents, along with other family documents including a letter from Thomas Moorman to his son on the death of John Hope, Jr., confirm that John, Benjamin, Matthew, Apharacia and Mourning were (at least half-) siblings. As to which siblings were born to which mothers, even the dates of birth are confusing. If you would like copies of these documents I would be happy to share them.
I have been unable to confirm the marriage of John Hope and Mary Pamplin as cited in Caroline County - if anybody has evidence I would be very grateful. Much of what I have heard about John Hope's (supposed) two wives I cannot raise much above the level of "family lore" because of the lack of documentation. Some say John Hope's second wife was Temperance Harris, descended from the Harris-Overton family, but aside from a granddaughter named Temperance I can find little to back that up either.
It would be very helpful if perhaps the Hope-Vaughan-Moorman researchers could combine our energies to clarify these points of confusion. I'm willing to share whatever I have with anyone who will find it helpful.
