Hi Linda Hi Marc
Hope you get this post as I can see your last posting was in Jan 2002.
I am the Grandson of Phyllis Pamplin (Dover) whom Married John Reginald Thatcher of Wakefield Yorkshire Just after World War Two, where they lived in Doncaster. Here twin sister, my Aunt Joan married and settled in Birmingham.
They often talked about Lesley Charles Pamplin your farther and how he followed his farther Bertram Charles Pamplin into the navy, although Bertram was in the merchant Navy.Where as your farther Lesley was in the Royal Navy, where I believe, if my childhood memory serves, he was decorated for throwing himself in front of some equipment which saved the lives of hundreds, but did great damage to his legs?
The memory of that conversation is 30 years old so how true it is only you (Linda) can tell me.

All the best
Moe Buckari.
