Hi Gary,
I have not developed proof of Mary Pamplin's parentage. However, Chris Pamplin c_pamplin@comcast.net advised Mary "might" be daughter of John Pamplin Jr born 1711 or earlier in King & Queens County, Va. Then states we have no info re descendants of "Robert" Pamplin Jr.There is record of him in Lunenburg County, Va in 1756. Record also in Halifax C0. Va. 1778 when he bought 100 acres. Feb. 11, 1789 sold this land and was described as Robert Pamplin of Rockingham County, North Carolina.
I have not followed up on this info but you have rekindled my interest in Mary. With luck I may have some time soon to do some research. How are you related to Mary Pamplin Carrington? I have extensive documented info re the Carrington family going back to Barbados and prior to that England. Quite a family.
I will contact if I find anything of value.
