Chris,
Thank you for your reply. As far as I know I do not have a tie-in with the Hunt or Roane surnames. I have been researching the Evans' of Amherst Co. Va for about twenty years and I just can not prove anything. There seems to be two lines of Evans' in Amherst and everyone seems to get back to the Thomas Evans that died in 1774 and stops there.
By any chance do you know when Nancy Ann (Pamplin) Evans died? On James Evans' pension papers, from Amherst Co., in 1808 and then again in 1828 he states that his wife is dead and his only children, two daughters are married and living out of state. As this James Evans, that married Nancy Pamplin, is the only James Evans I have found in Amherst Co.I thought just maybe that someone with Pamplin connection would know something about him. Again thank you and if you ever run across anything that might help me with James Evans, please let me know.
Thank you, Wakley Ann Evans Doyal
