Could all of us who believe we descend from John Hope, father of Apharacia Hope and other siblings and half-siblings, assemble our data and sources and compare notes? I've never seen a source or citation even for the marriage of John and Mary Pamplin, much less a marriage record for any of the children citing them as parents. The only primary source evidence I have linking the children of John Hope Sr. are wills and personal correspondence that link Benjamin, Matthew, John, Apharacia, and Mourning. I also believe Giles and James were among his other sons. I can not prove that John II and Benjamin were only half-brothers - in fact, the evidence seems to suggest otherwise.
I think if we combined our efforts we may be able to fill in the gaps.

Thanks,
Kim
