Axel; Welcome!
I am afraid I won't be of much help to You but maybe I can steer you in the right direction. My Panknin ancestors have been in this country since mid 1800's. As far as I can find they are the only Panknins in U.S.A. The rest like your family setteled in Canada. Some of those of course have dropped down here in later years. Unfortuinately my gr- grandfather Charles Henry of Charleston SC. had nine girls,the only boy died young. My grandmother was the 2nd. daughter. I am in contact with a few of the other descendants, but of course none of them are Panknin's, some have Panknin as middle name. and also unfortuinatly. none are family researchers.
