Hi Shelley
My great grandmother was Mary Papineau. She married Joseph Samuel Moon. The only child I know of was Joseph Samuel Moon (Jr.), my grandfather, who was born in 1860 in Middleton Twsp, Norfolk County, Ontario and became at 10 yrs. of age, the ward of Robert Pear, aged 58 and Elizabeth (Barlow) Pear, aged 60.
Joseph Samuel Moon (Sr.) died but I don't know when and Mary (Papineau) Moon remarried to Sylvester Barton. In the 1871 census, Sylvester Barton was 49yrs, Mary Barton was 34yrs, their children were Carolyne, age 7or9, Mary A. age 5, Olive age 4 and Elijah age 1.
I know Elijah was born in S.Middleton, Norfolk County, Ontario in 1868 or 1869, Dec.31

Joseph Samuel Moon (Jr.) married 1885, Apr.14 in Courtland to Mary Ann Davis. They had 5 children. Joseph Samuel Moon (Jr.) died 1895, Nov. 28 at the age of 35. Mary Ann remarried to her husband's half-brother, Elijah Barton 1900, Mar.27 at St.Paul's United Church in Tillsonburg, Ontario and they had 3 children.

Can you connect any of these names? I sure would like to know and I know it is difficult with a female line, who Mary Papineau's parents were and if she had siblings.

Best wishes
Edith
