The original French-Canadian Paradis
The name Paradis is common in Quebec. Only one family brought that surname from France, in 1652. As the descendants spread throughout North America, especially New England, over time different spellings appeared, such as Paradise and Paradee.
That original couple was Pierre Paradis (1604 - 1675) from Mortagne, Perche, and his wife Barbe Guyon. They had 12 children. He was a swordsmith.
