I've been collecting Parchman genealogy information for 30 years, mostly on the descendants of Nicholas Parchman (who was my discovery in 1974)who arrived in Virginia about 1750. Later Parchmans began arriving about 1850. I've been trying to make contact with the later arrivals to see if there might be a connection back to Germany since I've never found how Nicholas got here and where he came from. I wrote some of the Parchmans in the Cincinnati area in 1976, but they never answered my letters. I have been working with cousins in Texas to put the entire Parchman family together and we have almost everyone connected. We hope to publish a family book next year.

Several family legends say Nicholas came from Germany. I've been to Parchim, Germany looking for ancestors and there weren't any Parchmanns living there. I've had correspondence with some Parchmanns in Germany, but they don't know much about ancestry either. I hope you might have some information about the German connection. I've copied the data on your web site. Thanks for posting it. Now I can place many of the names that I've collected.
