The Parchman family in Texas since 1836 has been almost completely worked out by myself and three genealogy cousins, except for 2 family groups. This is one of them. The family of James Williamson Parchman (son of Jesse Parchman, who moved to Harrison County, TX in 1841), born 1816 in Tennessee, died 1861, was married to Elizabeth Steadham (b 1819 in TN) and this family is completely known. Their children were
Louisa A b 1839 in TN
Josephus b 1841 in TN
Abel B b 1843 in TX (twins)
Sarah Jane b 1843 in TX (twins)
Mary E b 1845 in TX
William Jesse b 1847 in TX
Barry Bradford b 1850 in TX
Emily F b 1853 in TX
Eugenia V b 1855 in TX (twins)
Jenetta V b 1855 in TX (twins)
Martha R b 1857 in TX
James A b 1859 in TX
But the Jas F (b 1827) Mary Minerva (b 1850), Henry Clay (b 1852) Josephine Precilla (b 1855) Laura Friona (b 1858) and Jas F. M. (b 1849) do not fit in with James Williamson or any of his siblings. The family lived briefly in Mississippi (1820, in the first census for the new state of MS) before moving back to TN and then to TX. James Williamson had an older brother, Wiley Jackson (b 1814 in TN), and 7 younger siblings, including Susan Ellen, (b 1817 in TN) who married a Henley, Mary Manerva (b 1828 in TN) who married a Jones, and a brother Henry Clay (b 1820 in MS). All of the children of these siblings are also known and do not match the names of these Parchmans. There were many cousins named Mary or Manerva or Henry Clay or James, but all are accounted for.
Apparently a James F (b Dec 2, 1827) married Sarah Lyster about 1848 in Harrison County, TX (shown in the 1850 census of Harrison County, the first Texas County where 2 known Parchman brothers from TN migrated to about 1841 (Jesse) and 1846 (James)), and had the following children:
Jas F. M. (b. Jul 15, 1849)[perhaps named Francis Marion?]
Mary (Molly) (b c. 1851)
Henry (b c 1853)
Josephin Pricilla (b June 24, 1855 in MS?) married Cannon
Laura Friona (b. Feb 28 1858)[also called Sophronia, Trioride,Triona, Frionda, and Ona in census record transcriptions]
Jas F died by 1864 (perhaps in the Civil War?), since "Widow Sarah Parchman" married Ferdinand Carroll, the founder of Como, TX, in Hopkins County in 1864 and they had a child named Elizabeth.
This family is still a mystery, but must be connected somehow.
