Maxime Parent and Emma Alma Theriault

I am needing help. I have just started tracking my family and have already come to a wall. My fathers parents were Maxime Parent and he married Emma Alma Theriault. They may have been married about January 1912. They had 10 children: Leonard, Percy, Wilfred, Ann, Ida, blanche, Irene, Rita, Norma, Gilfred. When I look these up in familysearch.org they have they have Maxime as a female and Emma Alma as Male. Just the opposite of what they are. I was told by my father that I am related to Perrine Bourg and Jehan Terriau who first settled in Maine. Does anyone have any suggestions?
