A biography of William Nelson Parent, Whitefish, MT, is included in "Montana, Its Story and Biography", Vol 3, pages 960 & 961. William was born, 27 Apr 1880, the son of L.N. and Josephine (Leanis) Parent. In 1900 he came to Seattle, WA, with his father, and later to Kalispell, MT, where the father was a blacksmith and wheelwright. William became a blacksmith and worked in Kalispell until moving to Whitefish, MT, in 1906. He continued as a blacksmith for seven years until he was appointed chief of police of Whitefish, and later as constable, then deputy sheriff, and served Whitefish as marshal for 28 years. William died 24 Feb 1932. I am not related. In Kalispell, William married Miss May Gregg, daughter of William Gregg, and early pioneer of the county. Notify Administrator about this message?
