Looking for Parisi relatives from L.A.
My mother was a Parisi. Her father was Tony Parisi, after whom I am named. He had brothers named Bennie, Oscar, Frank and Rocco. Their father came from Calvello in the Province of Potenza, Basilicata. This line of Parisis was intermarried with the Lenge family also from Calvello. They immigrated around 1870 settling in Kansas City Missouri and then moved to the Los Angeles area. My grandfather was a telegraph operator. Some of his brothers were musicians--Oscar in particular. HE played the trombone in symphony orchestras. The Lenge family also had an orchestra which played at Chattauqua camps and other venues during the latter part of the 19th C and early 20th. If any of this sounds familiar, I'd like to reestablish contact with my long lost Italo-American relatives. I've been to Calvello and can tell you about the town your relatives came from.
