I realized today that a great acquaintence and friend that I met through genealogy and our common ancestry has passed. His name is Ransom Deur Park and he was known by all as Dan. Apparently, it was a sudden passing, as he passed away in his sleep. His mother was Elvira Deur and father was Ransom Keith Park.
Here is his obituary:
RANSOM "DAN" DEUR PARK, 65, passed away suddenly at home on February 1, 2007 in Houston, Texas. Dan was born on April 17, 1941 in Saginaw, Michigan to his parents, the late Ransom Keith and Elvira (Deur) Park.
A loving father, grandfather and brother, Dan is survived by his son, Robert "Bob" Park; grandchildren, Kelsey Park and Christopher Park; sisters, Lynda Nielsen and husband Torkild, Karen MacDermaid and husband Mike, Carmen Minard and husband Gary; and many other loving nieces, nephews and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 18, 2007 at First Colony Bible Chapel, 3610 Austin Parkway, Sugar Land, Texas, 77479 (281-265-3411) with Pastor Jeff Bloom officiating.
