I have the following from various records at ancestry.com:
John (Jr) 1707-1762 b. NJ, d. VA
m. Mary Davis abt 1730 in NJ

John (III) 1735-1816 b. NJ, d. VA
m. Susannah Elrod (1741-1783)
No indication that this John Parks was ever in NC, he appears to have lived entirely in VA and been buried in the Parks Hollow Cemetery in Hampshire Co.

I too suspect the ages involved here, given their eldest b. 1751, and the DOB seems pretty firm (given as 4 Jan 1751). John III would have been only 16, his wife only 10.

John (IV) 1751-1831 b. VA, d. OH
m. Anna Maria "Mary" Millslagle/Milshlagel/Millslogel etc 28 Mar 1786, when she was 21, per her father's journal.

The surnames evolved from Parke to Parks to Park, and as well, the various Johns are listed as Jr or Sr, so it's nigh impossible to tell which is which except by enumerations of wives and children in wills and the like.
