Buchanan Parker b. 1858
Hello, Wayne - I am reviewing the Parker family of
John W. Parker b. TN 1830 m. Mary E. Unknown b. TN 1831. They in TN at least until 1858, county unknown. They were in Collin Co. Texas by the 1860 census.Living with them there were possible siblings of John W. Parker, including John T. Parker b. 1838 MS, James D. Parker b. 1842 MS, Elixabeth Parker b. 1844 MS, and Samuel Parker born 1846 MS county unknown. Also living with this extended family were the children of John and Mary Parker, including Lucy b. 1852 TN, Mary E. b. 1856 TN, Buchanan b. 1858 TN, and Laura Belle born 1860 Texas.
John W. Parker served in the Civil War, his term of service unknown, but he died before the 1870 census.
His widow, Mary E. Unknown Parker married John Thomas Emberton by the 1870 census. Subsequent censuses show several more children named Emberton, but I am unclear if they were born to Mary E. Parker's first marriage or the second marriage to Emberton. The Embertons moved to West Texas where Laura Belle grew up and married Andrew Witt Springer.
Do any of these Parkers sound familiar to you?The boy's name Buchanan and the TN to MS to TX route that the Parkers took may all speak to you, but I could use confirmation. If they are not your people, I'll keep looking.
