Hello, Wayne - Here is what I know about Benjamin and how it compares to the material you listed:
Richmond County NC is as good a possibility as any of the others as an origin for Benjamin, but I have never seen anything in any data that hinted at it.Same goes for Anson County.
Benjamin was born between 1771-1780, exact year unknown.If we guestimate 1775, he would have been 15 on the 1790 census and not a likely subject for the HOH census.His first known child was born in NC in 1798.It is possible he was in NC for the 1800 census, but unclear.He and his family were in Georgia by 1801 when the second child was born.Their migrations continued for decades, and they did not return to NC, ever.
Elijahs do not come to mind in that period.
