Hi Karen, My name is Alison Bigbee and I noticed your posting on the Parkhill family from Franklin Township, Fayette County, PA....I am researching the Dougan family from Franklin/Dunbar Township, Fayette County, PA.The Dougans and Parkhills were apparently closely associated....Robert Dougan (d. 1804 in Dunbar Township) was an original landowner in Franklin Township and in his will, the "heirs of David Parkhill, deceased," helped divide up his land between his two sons, John Dougan (my direct ancestor) and Robert Dougan, Jr.
The reason I write is that I recently found out that a son of Robert Dougan, Jr., a William Morrow Dougan (b. 1817 in Dunbar Township, died 1900 in Killbuck Township, Holmes County, Ohio), married Esther Parkhill (b. 1817, died 1885 in Holmes County, Ohio.)I was wondering in your Parkhill research, have you run across Esther Parkhill--I am looking to find her parents names.I am doing collateral research to try to knock down some of my brick walls:):)
Thank you so much for your time!
Alison
