Tracing our cockney roots - Parkins 1843
Posted by: Ian Clayton Date: July 23, 2001 at 22:01:57

has anyone out there traced back family to and beyond an Edward Walmsley Parkins.
Born Islington Middx England 6-Mar-1843
Died of 'consumption' as a ships clerk in London (dockland area) 24-Jun-1880.

We are Londoners from that area living in Florida. Its taken us years to get past a name change in 1880s to this man. His father was James Parkins b: 3 Nov 1811, a gentleman who was married to Alice Witt.

We believe Jame's father was Mathew Parkins, married to Margaret Catehrick then our trail runs into hundred of Parkins... help

Ian
