This has become confused. I was replying to Ellen Hollin, who was interested in a second Samuel, and not the Samuel L. (b. 1817) for whom you have additional information. I was aware that your Samuel L. was the son of a Nathan Parkins, but have no knowledge of this line beyond that generation. But the Samuel (b. 1802) appears to have this lineage: son of James Parkins, Jr. (b. 1765 Greenbrier Co. VA, now WV), grandson of James Parkins, Sr. (b. 1741 Pr. George's Co., MD), and great-grandson of John Parkins, Sr. of "His Lordship's Kindness" in PG Co., MD (d. 1763 in PG Co., with will). In this family, I do not show anyone with the given name of Nathan.
