My husband's grandmother was a Parkins. She was
born in Joplin, MO in 1894 to James Marion PARKINS
(1853-1933) and Eva Belle ATWATER (1863-1930), the youngest of 6 children. Grace Marie died of
a blood clot after surgery in Neosho,MO in 1942.
Her parents were from Moline, Rock Is., ILL and
Eva was born in Oshkosh,WI. The children were
Frank (1882-1930), Hattie (1884-1947), Madge (1887-1908), James C. (1888-1939), Archie (1892-
1943) and Grace. Most moved to California except
for Grace and Hattie. I am completely stymied
by the family who know nothing, or will share
nothing. If any of you know anything about this
family from ILL , please contact me at my husband's e-mail address. We live at Goodman,MO and would like to complete his Parkins line. The death records only told that
he was an iron molder at one time, and we learned
he ran the streetcar for awhile. His wife died of senility in a mental hospital. Bonnie
