I am a Whitney researcher, and not related to the Parlins. However, my gr-gr-grandmother, Dorcas Drury, married first, Simon Parlin of Temple, Maine. He was the son of Alpheus Parlin of Concord, MA, and was born in Bingham, ME. They had one son, Simon W. Parlin. Simon Parlin died before his son was born, and Dorcas married Ebenezer Whitney. Her son Simon W. Parlin was raised in her Whitney family. He went on to become a Civil War soldier and a writer for a Boston horsebreeder's newspaper. I have a lot more info if this line is in any way of interest to you. I would also be interested in any info you could add to this line for me.
