Michael: I tend to agree with you, however, Linda, who is, perhaps a Giles descendent, has always been told they were German, maybe they were speaking about Elizabeth PENN, whom I also agree was most probably German. BUT, to my knowledge, this is all supposition. I can find no documentation to prove or disprove it. That's the problem with researchers today, in my opinion. They become blinded to other possibilities. I am aware Giles Jr. made that statement, according to Arlene's book, but she presents no documtation to substantiate it. Until such is forthcoming, I choose to have Maybe's clearly labeled as just that, Maybe or according to family history, etc.

It sure is nice to have found other PARMAN researchers. Maybe between all of us we can actually tie down this elusive creature named Giles Franklyn PARMAN and maybe, if we're lucky, even his father.

Please keep in touch

Florence Parman
