Michael: James Parman was in Augusta Co. VA in 1752. He was "theoretically" born in England 1728. There are two separate documentations of this. 1) 5-21-1752 Augusta Co. VA court records Order Book No. 3 p 257 as "proving his importation direct from Great Britain). and 2) "Chronicles of the Scotch-Irish Settlement in VA" page 51 reads: "James Parman proves importation direct from Great Britain". I don't have any evidence of anyone being somewhere in 1727. I do have a notation that Giles Parman was born in Chester Co. PA 1732 and married 1) Mary Dodson and 2) Phebe Woolsey. I can't find any documentation of Giles (1737) in PA or anywhere else. I know the second wife is wrong, Phoebe Woodlsey married my Giles after the death of his first wife, Elizabeth Penn. Because of this, I tend to throw out (in my mind) the entire Giles 1737 theory. I believe I picked this up from some family history at the LDS. I tend to be very skeptical of the family histories you get from there, anyway.
I still feel James was the immigrant, can't prove it, and my Giles was his son, but can't actually prove that either. Therefore, I start my tree with Giles Franklyn Parman (1758)and keep picking away at who might be his ancestors.
Hope you can help
